Annual Summer Reading Celebration Comes to Placentia Library

Placentia - Placentia Library invites the community to its annual Summer Reading Celebration on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This year’s Celebration includes free train rides, pony rides, food, crafts, games, face painting, puppet show, selfie booth and more for the community to enjoy!

California State Librarian Greg Lucas will also be featured as a Guest Storyteller for this year’s event. Mr. Lucas was appointed State Librarian of California in 2014. A state capitol reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle from 1998 to 2007, he was also the senior editor for Capitol Weekly from 2011 to 2014. He has a master’s degree in professional writing from USC, and a communications degree from Stanford.

There is something for everyone at this year’s event. Grand prize winners for the library’s Summer Reading Program will also be announced. This year’s prizes are:

Adults (18 + yrs.)

The Summer Reading Celebration culminates the library’s “Read to the Rhythm” popular Summer Reading Program for readers of all ages.
