Placentia Library Director Message (June 11, 2021), Jun 11, 2021
Dear Placentia Library District Patrons,
Summer 2021 will be different. As the number of covid cases continue to decline, we can cautiously breathe a sigh of relief – for the light is near. As you and your families prepare for graduations, vacations, weddings, and more family gatherings this summer – we, at the Placentia Library District, continue to offer amazing and creative programs and services for you.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Program – Summer Reading is Magical! The program runs from June 26th through August 5th. There are prizes for all ages including a Nintendo Switch Lite, Target gift card, Summit House gift card, Harry Potter gift basket, Go Pro Hero 7, and much more. You can register at www.placentialibrary.org/summer, starting June 26th.
Our team is also hard at work, making changes in alignment with the anticipated June 15th announcement from the Governor. As per the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), effective June 15th, please note the following changes as you visit us:
- Masks will not be required for fully vaccinated guests and team members. Unvaccinated guests and team members over the age of 2 will continue to be required to wear a mask. Guests will self-attest that they are in compliance to CDPH guidelines prior to entering the library building.
- Board meetings will return to the Library, in-person and virtual.
We will continue to social distance until further notice. We look forward to fully re-opening on July 12th with access to the Friends bookstore and Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders.
The weather is expected to be in the high 80s and low 90s this weekend – enjoy the beautiful Southern California sun and we will see you June 15th!
Sincerely,
Jeanette Contreras
Library Director
