Placentia Library Director Message (November 16, 2020), Nov 16, 2020

Dear Placentia Library District Patrons,

Today Governor Newsom announced a change in the Blueprint for a Safer Economy, putting 94.1% of California’s population in the most restrictive purple tier. California is experiencing a substantial increase in cases since the pandemic started. This rollback is effective tomorrow.

The Purple Tier allows for libraries to open with modifications. We continue to operate in Phase 2 under our COVID-19 Reopening Plan, our current actions remain in effect, including the current capacity of 30 patrons. As you are aware, we have implemented a weekly rotating staff schedule to ensure minimal operating hour disruptions should one of our staff test positive. We are striving to ensure our Library responds in accordance with everchanging local and state guidelines.

California residents (except those under 2 years of age) are required to wear a face mask and social distance whenever they’re outside their homes. During your visit with us, please be sure your face mask covers your nose, mouth and chin at all time while inside the library. We understand there are patrons who may not be comfortable with a face mask, and for those patrons, we offer our multitude of online services including e-content, curbside services, and laptops & hot spot checkouts as well. Please call our Information Desk at (714) 528-1906 x210 or x209 for additional assistance.

We understand these are trying times - rest assured our team is diligently working to remain connected and helpful to our community.

Sincerely,

Jeanette Contreras
Library Director
