Placentia Library Director Message: November 27, 2021

Dear Placentia Library District Patrons,

Last week our Library Board discussed, and reviewed comments received from four patrons regarding our current mask guidelines – 2 opposed our guideline while another 2 supported it. Libraries across Orange County have implemented the same mask guidelines as ours – requiring masks for those who are unvaccinated. Those who desire to wear masks are welcome to do so – and you’ll see several of our staff will remain masked. We are encouraged by the availability of vaccines for children, adding the extra protection for our little ones. Throughout these challenges, your safety has been, and continues to be a priority.

Another priority of ours is family, both at home and at work. The last year has been difficult for all of us. We rejoice in the opportunity this year to gather with family and friends to give thanks for all our blessings. During this holiday season, we want to express our gratitude for your patience, understanding, and positive comments as we continue to provide you and your family the highest standards and a positive library experience, virtually and in-person. We are so thankful to our incredibly talented team at Placentia Library, our patrons and our supportive community!

On behalf of the Library Board and our team, we wish you and your family a warm Thanksgiving filled with laughter, gratitude, and unforgettable memories!

Respectfully,

Jeanette Contreras
Library Director
