Placentia Teen Advisory Council (PTAC)
First and Third Thursday of Each Month
6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Placentia Library Community Meeting Room
The Placentia Teen Advisory Council is open to all high school students interested in gaining community service experience, volunteer hours, and leadership skills through planning and supporting library events.
All teens between the age of 13-17 are welcome to join PTAC, no application required. Guests may attend any PTAC meeting for their first time and are encouraged to sign up as members in order to receive volunteer service hours. All prospective PTAC members will need to complete the volunteer orientation in order to receive hours for attending meetings. We ask that all members try to attend at least one meeting per month.
At PTAC, we hold special programs such as Back to School Craft Night, Halloween Movie Night, De-Stress Fest, and Anime/Manga Night. Each program is unique, usually with a themed activity and snacks. All special events are listed on the library’s calendar page of the website. Regular meetings consist of completing volunteer tasks to help with library needs (discarding books, compiling gift bags, cutting out materials for crafts, etc.) and discussions of upcoming teen events. PTAC members are encouraged to provide their feedback and ideas for future teen programs!
Members also receive priority to sign up for volunteer opportunities at library events, such as the PLFF Member Recognition Event and the Literacy Holiday Potluck.
